BLACKPINK “Kill This Love” Cover Dance Contest Winner Team Victory Crew in Thailand
BLACKPINK ‘Kill This Love’ dance contest “BLACKPINK ‘KILL THIS LOVE’ DANCE COVER CONTEST WITH Kia” is an online cover dance contest held from April 15 to April 30, 2019 with approximately 800 cover dance teams from around the world participating in the contest.
The sponsor is Korean automaker KIA Motors (Kia Motors).
BLACKPINK ‘KILL THIS LOVE’ DANCE COVER CONTEST WITH Kia was rated by BLACKPINK’s agency YG Entertainment (50%) and viewed on YouTube (50%). The structure of the online dance contest was determined by a percentage of the total number of participants (3%), and the top three teams were awarded 30 million won (approximately 2 million yen, 600,000 yen, and 400,000 yen).
The winner of the largest online dance contest in history at the time was the Victory Crew, a cover dance team from Lisa’s hometown of Thailand.
The Victory Crew won the grand prize of 20 million won (approximately 2 million yen).
Incidentally, second place went to C.A.C from Vietnam and third place went to Pink Panda from Indonesia.
1st PLACE BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) – KILL THIS LOVE COVER BY VICTORY THAILAND
Victory Crew is a copi-uni made up of five dancers from dance studio DANCEZONE Chiangmai in Chiang Mai.
The video was shocking, like a well-crafted music video.
DANCEZONE also offers dance lessons through their mobile app, so you don’t have to live in Thailand to take lessons.
Afterwards, DANCEZONE had 5 pairs of dance cover contests for “How You Like That” (with an additional pair added after the contest), including VICTORY CREW, THUNDERBOOM, TINY STAR, GLOWING, 1st IMPRESSION, plus PRINCESA’s “How You Like That” cover dance team participated in the competition and poured their winnings from last year’s competition into the production of a spirited video in an attempt to win the title for the second year in a row.
Unfortunately, VICTORY CREW didn’t win the title for the second year in a row, but DANCEZONE has become a dance studio that attracts the attention of cover dance teams from all over the world.
